Jehan had been disappointed to not see Melusina at the Halloween party, but all disappointment had been forgotten when she'd called yesterday and invited him over tonight. To her home. Unchaperoned, just the two of them. Uncharacteristically, he was hardly even nervous at the thought. His excitement overshadowed any anxiety he felt.

He arrived at her door and knocked, bouncing on the balls of his feet as he waited for her to answer.

"Entrée!"

Jehan broke into a grin at the sound of her melodic voice, opening the door and moving into an unfamiliar and shadowy living room. "Chérie?" he called, his grin fading as he peered around the murky room. There were no lights on anywhere, not that he could see.

"Dans ma chambre. Viens et me joins," Melusina purred from down the hall. Jehan's heart beat faster as he proceeded down the hallway, pausing in the bedroom to see her, lying in bed in some satiny chemise, illuminated by candlelight. "Oh," he breathed, flushing. This was...incredibly forward, and not what he'd expected at all, and--a massive turn-on. He swallowed and took a few steps toward the bed.

She smiled and threw back the blanket in invitation, but it was a few moments before what he was seeing truly registered through the haze of desire. The chemise ended a few inches below her waist...where her body turned scaly and serpentine. "Aimes-tu que tu voir?" she asked, a dangerous edge entering her voice. Jehan faltered, his eyes moving from the now-writhing bottom half of Melusina to her face. "Chérie?" he whispered, confused. "Quoi...?"

She sat up and lunged toward him, her eyes glowing red as she hissed. Jehan stumbled backwards, just avoiding her grasp. He managed to turn and run back down the hall, his heart now pounding with terror. He tried to ignore the slithering noises behind him, but then there was something curling around his ankle, pulling him to the floor.

He scrabbled for something to hold onto as he was dragged backwards, managing to grip a table only to have it pulled along with him. He cried out, letting go of the useless table in favor of the leg of the sofa. That halted his backward movement, at least.

"Melusina? Pourquoi?" Jehan cried, looking back over his shoulder as she tried to get a better grip with her tail, the coils snaking higher on his calf.

"Parce que j'ai faim," Melusina growled in a sibilant voice, yanking hard to try to break his grip. He looked around wildly for something, anything he could defend himself with. As the coils around his leg tightened painfully, he spotted a silver letter opener that had fallen from the table when it had been dragged out of place. He grabbed it, twisting around to stab it into the scaly wraps of muscle around his leg. Melusina shrieked, her grip loosening just long enough for him to kick free of her grip and scoot backwards across the floor, putting just a bit of distance between them.

The front door was too far away, but there was another door just a few feet away. He scooted back to the wall, using it to get to his feet as he scrabbled for the doorknob, sliding along the wall, still gripping the letter opener in one hand. He pulled it open and slipped inside, pulling the door closed behind him. That was when he realized he was in a coat closet.

There was a hiss and that slithering sound came again. He held tight to the doorknob, leaning back with all of his weight as Melusina yanked at the door. With his free hand he desperately fumbled in his pockets, finding his telephone and thanking god silently that Combeferre had taught him so well how to use it. It took almost no time to pull up Combeferre in his contact list and connect the call. "Oh, please be there," he breathed, not knowing what he would do if Combeferre did not answer.
